Micah and Tyler’s Styled New York Couple Photoshoot

I always look forward to reconnecting with fellow creatives. When I started planning this shoot, I wanted to work with some of my favorite creative people. And I wanted to shoot it in one of my favorite places: Brooklyn.

My friend Micah met Tyler when she moved from Colorado to New York to pursue modeling. I met her on a previous project years ago for a breast cancer awareness shoot. They were both really excited about this New York couple photoshoot, especially since it showcased Greenpoint Brooklyn.

Getting to do this styled shoot was an absolute blast, and I’m mildly obsessed with the outcome. I wanted it to have an “after-courthouse wedding” vibe to it. Not only were Micah and Tyler great to work with, but I got to work with some of my closest artistic friends.

Dream Team For A New York Couple Photoshoot

I got to work with some of my favorite artists for this New York couple photoshoot. My friend Keely was a stylist, and she’s one of my closest friends. I also recruited my very talented friend, Steph, who I use as a florist for almost all my personal projects. Lastly, I had to bring on my friend Natalie as another stylist, who has a great eye for detail.

Everyone was on board for the post-courthouse wedding picnic. Keeley and Natalie did an amazing job helping me style to shoot to look chic but non-traditional. I loved the idea of a picnic in the park with the city in the background, and watching it come to life was really special.

Plus, I shot the entire session on film, which was really fun for me! Not only did this entire New York couple photoshoot look incredible, but shooting it on film really elevated the entire feel. And Micah and Tyler were great to work with.

A Sweet Day in Greenpoint Brooklyn

I really wanted Micah and Tyler to be dressed for the part for this styled shoot. They had chic, stylish wedding elopement attire, and it went perfectly with the pizza and soda. Micah and Tyler were really comfortable in front of the camera, which was no surprise.

We had a lot of fun playing with angles and featuring different background shots. From the pizza box to the city skyline to the greenery from the park, there was a lot of variety to this styled shoot. I was really thrilled with the outcome, and I think we all had a great time.

Final Thoughts

It’s no secret that I love my job and I love New York. But one of the best parts about this business is finding people you love to work with. When you find people that have the same energy, focus and excitement for their work, magic is bound to happen; this shoot was no exception.

My goal is to find new and creative ways to approach photoshoots. If you’re interested in a non-traditional photographer for your wedding, engagement, couple photoshoot or family portraits, I’d love to connect with you.
