Hey, I'm Steph! Although I'm a photographer, I actually have a bachelors in Biology. I even have a few publications from the research I've done! So that's neat. Chipotle has become a hobby of mine. I have two chihuahuas and a husband who are just the bees knees. We met through our campus ministry at Illinois State University. He is quite possibly the best looking man alive and he is truly my number one fan. I love that guy. We both love Jesus and aim to glorify him. Our favorite hobby is driving to beautiful places with our pups, folding down the seats, and camping out in the back of my jeep. The biggest question I get asked is "sooo uh, where do you live exactly?" I know, it's crazy. After college, my husband and I bought a home in Boulder, Colorado and he recently took a job in Manhattan, NY so we have a litttttle (and I mean little) apartment there and travel back and forth often. It's a busy life style for sure. I like to think of myself as a mediocre minimalist. Before we moved to NY we were in the process of getting rid of practically EVERYTHING. And it was awesome. Then moving into a small apartment in the city forced us to downsize even more but it was so refreshing. I love quality and I'm not into name brands. My favorite places to shop are stores that hand make their clothes/shoes/beauty products, local, and have a story or mission. I wouldn't say I'm the healthiest eater but I'm all about minimal and fresh ingredients. But I'm literally addicted to chick fil a milk shakes but ... balance. Animals are everrrrything! So if you hunt them and don't eat them we aren't friends. Pine trees are my favorite, along with anything nordic. I love farmers markets, anything involving florals, gardening, and travel.
What kind of photographer am I? I'm the kind of photographer who wants to travel and explore. I want to also connect with my brides. I want to be rested and not over worked so I can be 100% there for my couples I do book. I've made the mistake in taking every inquiry that comes to me because my heart is just so over joyed when people want ME as their photographer. But that's not the kind of photographer I want to be. "less is more", right? I find it so important to take the time to know my couples, hangout with them, really listen to them. In return, the photos are always a hundred percent better because we know each other and you aren't just another booking to me.
